A female university student has committed suicide by jumping off from the sixth floor of a building in what is suspected to be love gone sour.
Following the incident grief, shock and disbelief has engulfed Chuka University fraternity with many remaining tight-lipped over an occurrence that has plunged the institution into mourning.
The lady reportedly jumped off the sixth floor of Science Complex building sustaining serious injuries and she succumbed while undergoing treatment in a hospital.
It is still not clear what made the lady take away her life, but unconfirmed reports indicated that she had some disagreement with a male friend.
The deceased was angered after she allegedly met her fiancé with another woman.
The incident happened as pockets of students continued with learning in the lecture halls and across the corridors.
Students castigated the administration over slow response saying the lady’s life could have been saved if an ambulance was offered in good time.
They took to social media accusing the management of failure to assist students going through psychological issues by offering counseling services.
“Let us speak up. Depression is real but death is never the solution. Rest in Peace,” Mburu Maina shared on Facebook.
