A swimming adventure turned tragic when two primary school boys accidentally drowned at a swimming pool in one of the private primary schools in Isiolo on Thursday.
The deceased were enjoying their half-term break when they decided to go for swimming before tragedy struck.
One of the learners was trying to swim when water overpowered him prompting the other pupil who was outside the pool to dive in in a bid to save his friend.
Unfortunately he also drowned during the process.
A source privy to the incident noted that the instructor at the facility was away when the unfortunate incident occurred.
The boys were from a neighbouring private school and had come to swim at the facility as it is the norm during such breaks.
The two are set to be buried on Thursday evening in accordance with Islamic regulations.
