TSC Sub County Director passes away after battling long illness

Towards the end of last year, Mathew Kimani was sent to India for specialized treatment following his cancer diagnosis.

Mathew Kimani, who served as the Sub-County Director for Gathanji Sub-county in Nyandarua County, made significant contributions to the TSC and the education sector.

His dedication and leadership will be greatly missed. According to National Chairman of TSC Sub County Directors Bernard Orwasa, Director Mathew Kimani had been sick for a while, and late last year, he was flown out to India for specialized treatment after being diagnosed with cancer.

He returned to the country about one month ago and has been in and out of hospitals since then, continuing with his medication.

In a statement, the chairman said that he passed away last Friday night while being rushed to Kenyatta University Teaching & Referral Hospital for review after his condition worsened.

His passing is a great loss to the TSC and the education sector in Nyandarua County and nationally.

“I take this opportunity on behalf of ALL TSC Sub County Directors across the country to convey our heartfelt condolences to his family, colleague TSC staff and the teaching/education fraternity in Nyandarua County and ALL of us, his colleague Directors nationally,” reads part of the statement.

“As we mourn Mathew Kimani, let us keep his family in our thoughts and support them during this challenging time.”

He added that more details about will be communicated in due course.
