The newly elected Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Nyandarua Branch Executive Secretary Julius Michuki has appealed to Members of Parliament from Nyandarua County to push for the gazettement of parts of the county as hardship areas.

Michuki said that there are some parts of Nyandarua which are so cold like South Kinangop and North Kinangop which are unfavourable and risking teachers health.

“Parts of Nyandarua County in South Kinangop and North  Kinangop is very cold, many teachers find the weather in those areas to be unfavourable. Michuki who was addressing the press at Transquil Guest House in Olkalou Town highlighted that teachers in the County are hardworking and the government should consider gazetting the mentioned areas into a hardship area so that they can continue performing their duties smoothly.
