As schools reopen this term, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has effected leadership changes in several institutions across Machakos County, following transfers and retirements of long-serving principals.
At St. Barbara Tala Girls High School in Matungulu Sub-County, Mrs. Damaris Muriuki has been appointed as the new principal after serving for seven years at Father Heeran Girls High School.
She takes over from Mrs. Annabelle Kirinya, who is retiring after also serving the school for seven years, having been posted there during the delocalisation exercise.
At Father Heeran Girls, the baton now passes to Mrs. Damaris Maweu, who previously headed Matuu Memorial Girls High School in Yatta Sub-County.

Her former position at Matuu Memorial will now be occupied by Mrs. Francisca King’oo, who has been transferred from St. Bakhita Kyua Secondary School in Katangi.
In another development, Mr. Dominic Maingi, who had served as principal of Masii Boys High School for only two terms, has been transferred to Kenyatta Boys High School, Mwatate, in Taita County.
Confirming the reshuffles, Machakos County KESSHA Chairperson, Mr. Stephen Kavuvu, said the changes are part of the ministry’s normal transfer and succession process.
