The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has conducted an induction exercise for 136 newly recruited secretariat staff, including Assistant Directors, Principal Teacher Management Officers from the teaching service, and Senior Management officers.
The three-day programme was held at the Kenya School of Government (KSG), Lower Kabete Campus, where Acting TSC Chief Executive Officer Evaleen Mitei addressed the officers.
Mitei congratulated them on their successful recruitment and urged them to use the training to prepare effectively for their new responsibilities and uphold professionalism in public service.

The induction fits into a broader capacity-building drive at TSC, which in November 2025 made leadership and management training mandatory for secretariat staff seeking promotion to senior grades.
Under Circular No. 28/2025, signed by Mitei, the Commission designated the Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP), Senior Management Course (SMC) and Supervisory Skills Development Course (SSDC) as prerequisites for advancement above TSC grades six, seven and eight. That training, like this induction programme, is delivered residentially at KSG.
