- TSC has transferred and replaced principals at Nanyuki Boys, Nyeri High, Endarasha Boys, Kahuhia Girls, Ngiriambu Girls and Kangaru Girls across the Mt Kenya region.
- Samuel Kahura has moved from Nyeri High to take over Nanyuki Boys, while Charles Wambugu has been appointed to succeed him at Nyeri High.
- TSC has put on hold a separate planned swap of principals at Kamahuha and Alliance Girls High Schools after one of the affected principals contested the decision.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has effected changes in several secondary schools across the Mt Kenya region, with Nanyuki Boys, Nyeri High, Endarasha Boys, Ngiriambu Girls, Kahuhia Girls and Kangaru Girls all receiving new principals.
At Nanyuki Boys in Laikipia County, Samuel W. Kahura, the chief principal at Nyeri High School, assumed leadership on Tuesday, replacing Solomon Koech, who was transferred to Lenana School in Nairobi a month earlier. Koech had initially been lined up to be replaced by Ndururumo High School Principal Daniel Chege, but that appointment was cancelled. Since Koech’s exit, Deputy Principal King’ori Gitonga had been in charge of Nanyuki Boys.
At Nyeri High, Kahura will be replaced by Charles Wambugu, currently the principal at Endarasha Boys.

In Murang’a County, Kahuhia Girls Principal Naomi Njehia has proceeded on retirement, with the TSC appointing Jane Kihara from Ngiriambu Girls in Kirinyaga County to replace her. A separate planned swap of heads at Kamahuha and Alliance Girls High Schools in Murang’a and Kiambu counties, respectively, has been put on hold after one of the affected principals contested the decision.
In Embu County, Kangaru Girls’ Principal Margaret Mbogo has moved to Kangeta Senior School in Mbeere South Sub-County, and has been replaced by Hellen Njeru, previously of Arch Angels Kanyueri School.
