The Trans Nzoia County Secondary Schools Sports Association (SSSA)has unveiled a packed Term Two 2026 sports programme, setting the stage for weeks of intense competition across multiple disciplines from zonal level to the East African stage.
The season will officially kick off on May 15, with a coordination clinic and technical workshop at St. Anthony’s Boys Senior School, where sports officials, coaches, and team managers are expected to align on competition rules, logistics, and overall preparedness ahead of the fixtures.
Zonal finals are scheduled for May 22nd and 23rd, featuring a full slate of games including soccer, volleyball, netball, rugby 7’s (boys and girls), basketball 3×3, and racquet sports across all zones in the county. The contests will determine qualification to the sub-county level.
Sub-county finals will follow on May 29th and 30th, with teams battling for places in the county championship rounds.
On June 5, attention will shift to St Mark’s Boys Senior School Cherangany, where team managers and coaches will hold a crucial coordination meeting to streamline preparations for the county finals and beyond.

The county finals are set for June 11th to 13th in Cherangany Sub-County, bringing together top-performing schools from across Trans-Nzoia in a high-stakes showdown for regional qualification.
Winners will advance to the regional championships scheduled for July 6th to 11th in Narok, before progressing to the national stage. The national games will see teams arrive on July 26, with official competition running from July 28th to August 2nd in the Central Region, covering Kiambu and Thika.
The season will culminate in the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) games, set for August 12th to 23rd in Tanzania, where Kenya’s top school teams will face regional counterparts in a bid for continental glory.

According to the association, eligibility for participation has been strictly set for students born on or after September 1, 2006, in line with national and international school sports regulations.
The programme is expected to not only streamline competition but also enhance talent identification and nurture young athletes from grassroots level to the regional stage, reinforcing Trans-Nzoia’s growing reputation in school sports.
