A new voice has emerged in the race for the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) National Trustee position representing the Rift Valley Region, with Teddy Chepngetich Cheberur pledging to champion teachers’ welfare and promote accountable leadership.
Cheberur, who currently serves as the Bomet KUPPET Third Assistant Secretary – Gender, is seeking the support of teachers across the region on a platform centred on unity, transparency and effective representation of teachers’ interests.
Her campaign comes at a time when teachers continue to push for stronger representation on matters affecting their welfare, working conditions, professional growth and participation in union affairs.
Cheberur says her leadership approach would place teachers at the centre of decision-making, with emphasis on ensuring their concerns are heard and addressed through effective union representation.
She has outlined three key priorities for her campaign: strengthening the voice of teachers, promoting transparent leadership and improving the welfare of educators.

Her message is also anchored on unity, with her campaign urging teachers to remain stronger together and work collectively towards a union leadership that delivers on its mandate.
The Rift Valley is home to thousands of post-primary teachers, making the region a significant bloc in KUPPET elections. The outcome of the contest will therefore be closely watched as teachers weigh the candidates and their respective programmes.
Cheberur is now taking her message to teachers across the region as she seeks to build support for her bid and convince members that her leadership would provide a stronger platform for their interests.
The election will ultimately allow teachers to decide who they want to represent them at the national level.
