Teachers on edge as TSC set to transfer, promote teachers in Baringo

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is planning to effect transfer of teachers in schools within Baringo County in two weeks’ time.

Speaking during Kabarnet High School Prize Giving day, TSC Baringo Deputy County Director Mrs. Joyce Mbaabu said that the Commission was doing the transfers in good faith to ensure balance in teachers’ staffing across all schools in the county.

She said that some teachers who were interviewed recently will also receive promotion letters in a fortnight while some will be absorbed to head some top administrative posts.

Responding to calls by education stakeholders on teachers’ shortage, Mrs. Mbaabu said that TSC was aware of the shortfall and was working on modalities to address the matter.

She added that the Commission was committed to swiftly tackle the issue by employing more teachers to bridge the deficit.

Mrs. Mbaabu lauded the school for the diversified curriculum it offers making it a unique school poised to strategize and compete favorably with other schools in the country.

She praised the collaboration between teachers, students, Board of Management and the community for their explicit role in realizing impressive results in national examinations.
