Police in Kisumu have arrested a 34-year old Runda Primary School teacher for allegedly defiling a 16-year old minor in Kisumu County.
Manas Ombok was on Sunday arrested by Kombewa police officers after they got tipped off by members of the public that he and the minor were at the Kombewa Guest House.
While confirming the incident, Kombewa OCS Rophas Lule said the teacher was caught pants down with the standard eight minor.
“The teacher enticed to the guest house a minor from the same school he teaches and defiled her,’’ said the police chief.
Lule added that the minor was taken to Kombewa Sub-county Hospital for check-up and treatment as Ombok was held at Kombewa Police Station.
“Ombok was taken to court on Tuesday 23Rd November 2021,’’ Lule confirmed.
The OCS lamented that rape and defilement cases within Seme Sub-county were on the rise especially in the past few months, adding that most of the cases were in court.
The police chief said the case came barely a month after a primary school head teacher was arrested for allegedly raping a 19-year old secondary school girl after luring her in his cyber café where she worked part time.
