A secondary school teacher has been arrested for allegedly drugging and sodomizing a 23-year old man at Baracho trading centre in Ndia Constituency, Kirinyaga County.
According to police, William Kinyua was arrested yesterday after being on the run since last week after committing the barbaric act.
The suspect, who is now behind bars and awaiting arraignment at Baricho Police Station, is a teacher at Baricho High School. It took the commitment of the police in thorough investigations for him to be arrested after going into hiding last week.
Kirinyaga West Sub county Police Commander Moses Koskei, confirmed the incident, saying the 23 year old victim, a car wash attendant at one of the local hotels had washed the teacher’s car before the culprit promised to reward him for the good work.
The victim, who at the same time is mentally challenged, was lured to a pub at Sagana where the teacher is reported to have bought a drink for him but with dismay the victim started feeling dizzy. It is alleged that the drink had been laced with drugs.
Koskei reported that the victim was found naked and dumped near Sagana River by a bunch of women who immediately reported the incident to the authorities and the victim was taken for medical attention
