The South Rift Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Fair brought together institutions from across the region to showcase innovations, practical skills, and research papers aimed at driving Kenya’s economic growth.
The event demonstrated the critical role TVET institutions play in national development, with trainees presenting innovations and research focused on improving various sectors of the economy.
In the innovations category, Ollessos National Polytechnic in Nandi County emerged top in Agriculture, Applied Science, and Automotive and Agricultural Engineering. Njoro Technical and Vocational College in Nakuru County excelled in Building and Construction, while Rift Valley National Polytechnic in Nakuru County led in Business Studies.
Kiptaragon Technical and Vocational College in Nakuru County topped the Civil Engineering and Cosmetology categories. Sot Technical Training Institute in Bomet County emerged best in Food and Beverage, while Kaiboi National Polytechnic in Nandi County won in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
Kericho National Polytechnic excelled in Information and Communication Technology, while Kimasian Technical and Vocational College in Kericho County emerged best in Mechatronics.

In the skills competitions, Njoro Technical and Vocational College took the top position in Fashion Technology, while Rift Valley National Polytechnic led in Electronics.
Sotik Technical Training Institute in Bomet County excelled in Car Painting and Bricklaying, while Emsos Technical and Vocational College in Nandi County emerged best in Restaurant Services.
Kimasian Technical and Vocational College topped in Wall and Floor Tiling, while Bomet Central Technical and Vocational College emerged best in Plumbing and Heating, as well as Beauty Therapy.
Ollessos National Polytechnic won in IT Software Solutions for Business and Information Network Cabling, while Kaiboi National Polytechnic topped Mechanical Engineering CAD and Cooking.
Sot Technical Training Institute also emerged best in Hairdressing, while Aldai Technical Training Institute in Nandi County led in Electrical Installation.
In the research paper presentations, Ollessos National Polytechnic emerged best in the STEM category, while Rift Valley National Polytechnic topped the Social Sciences category.

The event, hosted by Kaiboi National Polytechnic, was attended by principals under the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) from across the South Rift region.
Institutions that secured first and second positions in innovations, skills, and research presentations qualified to represent the region at the National KATTI TVET Fair.
