- Musingu High School have announced their title ambitions with two dominant victories at the Kakamega County KSSSA Games.
- The Scorpions thrashed Lubinu Boys 5-0 before overcoming Kivaywa Boys 2-0 to top Group C.
- Musingu remains unbeaten and is among the early favourites to lift the county title.
The formidable Musingu High School soccer team, popularly known as “The Scorpions,” has sent a strong warning to rivals at the ongoing Kakamega County Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Games in Mumias.
Musingu displayed its class in the opening Group C fixture, hammering Lubinu Boys High School from Mumias East 5-0 in a thrilling encounter.
The Scorpions took control of the match early, with Kevin Mukaramoja opening the scoring before adding his second goal of the game.
Shaban Quimba netted the third goal, while Walker and Mukaramoja completed the rout to hand Musingu a convincing five-star victory.
Scorpions Maintain Momentum
The Scorpions carried their impressive form into their second match against Kivaywa Boys High School from Lugari Sub-County, registering a comfortable 2-0 win.
The goals were scored by Ashuu and Opiyo, with Ashuu earning the Man of the Match award following a stellar performance.
With two victories from two matches, seven goals scored and none conceded, Musingu has emerged as one of the tournament favourites and a strong contender for the county title.
Eyes on the Knockout Stages
The Scorpions will play their final group-stage match at Mumias Bomani Grounds as they seek to maintain their unbeaten run and secure a place in the knockout stages.
According to the team’s technical bench, the school administration, led by Chief Principal Bernard Lukuya, has heavily invested in the football programme by providing players with the support, motivation and resources needed to excel.
“We narrowly missed out last year, but our target this season is to reclaim the national title. The competition is tough, but we believe in our squad and are confident of going all the way,” said one of the coaches.

The coach added that the team remains focused despite stiff competition and believes the players have what it takes to lift the trophy.
With a blend of talent, discipline and determination, the Scorpions appear poised for another memorable campaign as they pursue county, regional and national honours.
