National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) Senior Programme Officer Hadija Mohammed has called upon schools to join Amani clubs to promote peace in schools.

Speaking during the launch of Amani club in Makueni Boys High School, Hadija said the clubs help instill good behavior in students.

“We’re now in the electioneering period. This is a very sensitive period so if we instill good morals in our children, they will embrace it and prevent chaos in future in all aspects of life,” she added.

She offered peace talk to students and warned the boys against being used by politicians to cause chaos.

Hadija said that only 15 schools in Machakos and Makueni counties have joined Amani clubs and called on more to come on board.

Makueni Boys Chief Principal Raphael Diwani thanked the government for initiating such clubs in schools adding that it will help shape the future of students especially in peace keeping among other virtues.

He expressed confidence that his students will embrace the clubs and that they will work closely with the patron and help whenever they can.

School chairman Onesmus Sanga thanked NCIC for the launch of the club in the school and called upon other schools to embrace the clubs.
