Merishaw School in Isinya, Kajiado county, and a family are in mourning after the untimely demise of a Grade 1 student, Darrell Elijah Wambua.
Darell’s parents were notified about the loss which occurred on the night of June 12, 2023 after the student was rushed to hospital.
According to an autopsy report conducted on June 14 to determine the cause of his death, it was confirmed that he succumbed to cardiac arrest.
The funeral preparations are in progress and the funeral has been scheduled for Saturday, June 24 at Kibwezi in Makueni County.
A crisis centre for counseling has been set up at the school to offer confidential and professional counsel for the family and the Merishaw fraternity.
The school Chief Principal David G. Kariuki expressed condolences, on behalf of the school, to the family and asked other parents and guardians to join them in praying for the family.
