School Boards of Management (BoMs) and School Management Committees (SMC) that misuse government money will be arrested and prosecuted in the court of law to serve as a warning against corruption.
Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Gisairo said the government has spent a lot of money to fund and support infrastructure development in schools through NG-CDF and called on those entrusted to manage the funds to be honest servants.
“Public money needs prudent accountability. That is why those called to manage it need to be men and women of outstanding character,” he said.
The MP was speaking at Kenyerere Comprehensive School in Maombi Ward when he handed over two modern classrooms to the management for use as schools reopen for second term at the end of this month. The two modern classrooms, furnished with enough desks and a special library cupboard, took Sh29 million to complete.

The MP lauded his NG-CDF team and Kenyerere Primary School Management Committee (SMC) for their prudent use of the funds and asked other institutions in the constituency to copy them.
He appealed to teachers to prepare pupils well in life by living exemplary lives void of drunkenness, laziness, and other uncouth behaviors.
The MP said the new classrooms will provide extra learning space that will ease congestion among learners.

A conducive learning environment is critical to quality education and learner outcomes. Well-ventilated, well-lit classrooms with adequate space reduce overcrowding, which directly improves concentration and allows teachers to give individual attention to learners. When pupils are not squeezed on desks or learning under trees, discipline improves and absenteeism drops.
Modern infrastructure also supports health and safety. Proper floors, roofing, and sanitation keep learners safe from harsh weather and waterborne diseases, ensuring they stay in school consistently. Access to water tanks and clean toilets, especially for girls, reduces dropout rates and keeps learners dignified and focused on studies.
Psychologically, a neat and organized school builds pride and motivation. Learners in decent classrooms develop higher self-esteem and a positive attitude towards education, which boosts performance in exams and co-curricular activities. For teachers, a conducive environment eases lesson delivery, improves morale, and makes it easier to apply competency-based teaching methods that require space and teaching aids.
Ultimately, investing in proper learning spaces translates into a competent, healthy, and innovative future workforce. It is the foundation for reducing inequality and driving long-term development in Nyamira County and the country at large.
