President William Ruto has given Ksh.10m each to model schools in Kisii.
Speaking at Etago Stadium in South Mugirango Constituency, the head of state also issued Development cheques to Schools and more than 100 women groups in the constituency.
Among the Schools that benefitted from Sh.10 million, each included Nduru Boys, Ndaru Girls Secondary Schools, and Etago Primary School which received money to improve its infrastructure.
The president also laid a foundation stone for Nyamarambe/Nduru Medical Training Centre.
Area MP Sylivanus Osoro while thanking the president said that the establishment of a Medical Training College will boost careers and create a source of unemployment.
“Education is the only sure way of providing communities with equal chances of competing favorably to meet the limited wealth in the world. “He said.
He said through his Bottom-up Economic Transformation agenda he was empowering communities at the grassroots by giving loans to women groups to enable them to boost their small businesses like vegetable selling for the upkeep of their families.
“Our Bottom-up approach of economic growth meant to give financial power to people like Mama mbogas (Vegetable sellers) who constitute the main population in the country.
Ruto who was flanked by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua also launched the construction of Etago-Nyamaiya-Omogenda -Geteni Road.
He also commissioned Tabaka-Nyabigena -Ikoba Road to be upgraded to Bitumen status.
On his part, the CS for education Ezekiel Machogu accused the opposition of staging demonstrations at such a critical time when students were preparing for their examinations.
He appealed to all parents in the country to put the interest of the child in the forefront because they are the hope of future generations.
He said that the Ministry of Education was working jointly with that of the Interior to ensure the Country was peaceful in the country before the start of the National examinations that ate around the corner.
Ruto was flanked by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, CS for Education Ezekiel Machogu, National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichungwah, and Parliament Chief Whip Sylivanus OSoro the host.
Others are former South Mugirango MP Omingo Magara and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University governing council Dr. Wills Omwoyo among other leaders.
