The number of pupils from Ebenezer Academy in Busia town who died in a road accident that occurred on Saturday evening at Kaburengu along Webuye-Eldoret highway has reached seven.
This is after one more pupil who was in ICU at Bungoma Referral Hospital succumbed to injuries today at noon.
According to the school Headteacher, 4 pupils died on the spot while two died in hospital on Saturday with 6 others, 2 teachers and the school bus driver sustaining serious injuries.

The school bus with 21 Grade 5 pupils aged between ten and twelve years and their two teachers were coming from an academic tour in Eldoret when their vehicle was hit by a lorry ferrying ballast which had lost control after a brake failure.
By Sunday morning, four bodies had been ferried from Bungoma to Busia county and plans were underway to ferry the remaining.
Meanwhile, a sombre mood engulfed the school located in Busia town, with parents streaming in to ascertain safety of their children.
Members of the Red Cross Society also visited the school to provide guidance and counseling services to parents and pupils.
