Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Public Service and Special Programmes Prof. Margaret Kobia has emphasized the need of education stating that is the only investment with future return.

Speaking during the commissioning of a borehole, new tuition and administration blocks at Mariinya-a-Ruibi Primary School in Buuri Constituency in Meru County, Prof. Kobia underscored the need to invest in children in order to invest in the future.

The CS who is an alumni of the school said education is the greatest stabilizer and among the most valuable inheritance we can bequeath our children.

“We should therefore invest in this school, investing in our children, in their future and the future of this entire community,” said Prof. Kobia.

She urged the students to be fearless in their pursuit of greatness and emphasised that one’s background should not hinder them from reaching their full potential.

She took the opportunity to reflect on her journey from the school 61 years ago.

“As alumni of this school, we are a testament to the fact that one’s background does not limit their future and that with hard work and determination, we can all access opportunities for success,” she added.

The construction of the borehole and the administration block was a joint effort between the school’s alumni, the Ministry of Education and the school administration among other donors.
