Police in Kisii arrest suspect over defilement of Grade Four school girl

The Police in Kisii County have arrested a man, suspected to have defiled a Grade Four school going girl in Keumbu area.

The suspect identified as Julius Turungi 30, reportedly committed the offence two weeks ago and went into hideout before being arrested.

According to Nyumba kumi groups chairman in Keumbu area of Nyaribari Chache Constituency Sospeter Ombati, the residents have been looking for the suspect to be handled to the Police for further investigation.

“Since then we have been looking for him to arrest him and hand him over to the police. He has been hiding till yesterday, however by good lack we were able to get him and handed him over,” Said Ombati

Ombati asked parents not to hide their children in house after being defiled because of public shame but instead report the matter to the police for immediate assistance.

He promised that his office will work hand in hand with the police to maintain las and order in the community and asked for security protection from the police against law breakers who hate him and his aides because of expose their crimes to the security officers
