Police in Homa Bay begin investigations into death of TSC director

The Police in Homa Bay County have started investigations into the cause of death of a Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Ndhiwa Sub-County Director David Muruka.

According to Ndhiwa area Chief, the body of the director was found lying still on a chair in his rental house within Ndhiwa town on Friday morning, May 17.

“He was last seen on Thursday but when he reportedly failed to report at work his colleagues made a follow up and forced the door open then found the still body on bed,” said the Chief.

The police moved the body to Homa Bay County Hospital for preservation.

Homa Bay County Police Commander Julius Kitetu confirmed the death, saying, “Our security officers have started investigations to establish the cause of the death.”

He appealed to the public to volunteer information that may help them unearth the truth surrounding the death.

Neighbours and colleagues described the deceased as a polite and sociable that lived well with people.

They appealed to the police to leave no stone unturned.

The late Muruka was a career teacher, a graduate of Moi University, and taught in several schools including Keveye Girls in Vihiga County.

He later joined the TSC Secretariat where he was deployed as a sub county director.

He had earlier served at Awendo Sub-county in Migori in similar capacity before his transfer.
