Rabondo Mixed Secondary School receives new bus

Jubilation and dance rocked Rabondo village in Awendo sub county during the arrival of a new bus purchased by the National Government-Constituency Development Fund  (NG-CDF) for Rabondo mixed secondary school.

The bus which arrived in the sub county at the weekend was handed over to the school principal and Board of Management (BOM) by the area Member of Parliament, Hon. Walter Owino Sirawa.

The MP urged locals to give support to learning institutions within their environs to be able to yield good academic results.

“We have qualified teachers in our schools and when supported our children will be able to pass their exams with flying colours. The education sector needs support not only from the national government but also from parents and locals for a peaceful coexistence,” said Sirawa.

He acknowledged the efforts made by teachers to ensure their learners are well prepared for exams despite challenges posted by the coronavirus that also brought other challenged.

“Despite the Covid-19 bringing on board several challenges even in the education sector, our teachers have been working tirelessly to ensure they impart knowledge to our children,” noted the MP.

He, however, urged school heads and administrators to call for assistance whenever there is need to ensure the infrastructural and academic development is well addressed and in time to provide support for learners.

“Do not shun visiting the CDF offices for requests for any support. Our offices are open with officers ready to serve the community where necessary. Let us work together for a brighter future of our schools and children,” he said.

The legislator noted that plans are still underway to ensure more schools within the constituency receive busses fully purchased by the NG-CDF. The schools include Nyakuru and Raywer secondary schools and the newly constructed Kenya Medical Training College, adding that the buses will ease transportation of learners during field educational trips.
