Residents of Olkeri Ward in Kajiado County are demanding arrest of Administration Police officer based in Kahara Police Camp for attacking and injuring a student in a school compound.

The officer who was identified as Mohammed roughed up the PCEA Upper Matasia Secondary school form four student after accusing him of making noise during break time.

The school principal Joshua Njoroge said the student was seriously injured, he slapped him before hitting him with his forehead, the students were in the school compound taking tea during break time when the incident happened.

“I went to the AP Camp and the officer involved confirmed he hit him because of making noise,” Njoroge said.

The principal reported the matter to Kajiado North assistant county commissioner Tom Anjera and OCS before reporting to CID Ngong Police Station.

The Kajiado North OCPD Joseph Mwika said he was away and has not been informed about the incident, he said he will follow up the matter.

The student received treatment in Trinity Hospital, he later paid sh 1,000 for a P3 form in Ngong sub county hospital, those who accompanied him had protested paying for the form which should be issued free.

Last month Embu resident judge Justice Florence Muchemi ordered that issuing and filling of P3 forms for victims of violence must be free.

Muchemi had declared that levying fees for issuing and filling the medical examination forms is illegal and unconstitutional. She prohibited the police, hospitals and any health facility in the country from levying fees for issuance and filling the for.

The nullification was through a petition lodged by the Legal Resources Foundation Trust which had had sued the Attorney General, the Police IG and Health CS. It argued that the required payment has been frustrating justice to victims and had had led to untold sufferings and miscarriage of justice.
