Parents in Nandi have urged the government to intervene and save them from the high costs of Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) teaching course. They have also expressed concern over hiking of school fees amid the hard economic times.
The parents, through their spokesperson Mr. Julius Keter said because of the high school fees, some of their children might lack access to basic education since most of them are from humble backgrounds.
“Majority of parents in Nandi have lost their jobs and their businesses due to the global pandemic which affected the economy of the nation. They have nothing to depend on to make a living,” Keter said.
The angry parents also urged school principals to give them ample time to raise school fees without sending their children back home.
