Parents of Magena Boys High School in Kisii County have welcomed the deployment of David Mbaka to the school as the new Principal.

Speaking to Education News from Magena town, the parents said the principal had come at an opportune time when the school’s academic standards were deteriorating.

Mbaka takes over from Zachary Rabago who is now heading to Mwongori Secondary School in Nyamira County.

“With the kind of track record Mr. Mbaka has we are sure he will revive the examination performance in our school,” Said George Aming’a a parent.

Elsewhere Kenyenya Sub-County Director of Education George Ouma has asked teachers to be passionate about their profession and do it with zeal so that when they hang their boots they leave a legacy.

He was speaking during the retirement ceremony of a long-serving Principal Thomas Nyandoro whose last station was Nyabine D.O.K Secondary School.

Before his retirement, Nyandoro was also KNUT Gucha Branch treasurer and the County Chairman of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programme in Kisii County.
