Parents and guardians in Bungoma County have been urged to take up their parental responsibility fully by applying guiding and counselling mechanisms.
Speaking at Western Heights Academy in Kanduyi Constituency during a graduation ceremony for 28 Pre-primary pupils, the Principal of Chekulo Friends Secondary School Francis Khaemba said parents should be more vigilant and monitor their children during the long December holidays to curb cases of drugs and substance abuse and early pregnancies.
According to Khaemba parents should give their children work and ensure they do their holiday school assignments.
