Kapseret Member of Parliament (MP) Oscar Sudi on Monday, June 1 commissioned a modern swimming pool at Ngeria girls secondary school, a project expected to enhance sports development, water safety training and student wellness at the institution.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria, ward representatives, education stakeholders and the school’s management team.
Speaking during the event, Sudi described the facility as a major investment in education and student development.
The swimming pool measures 12 feet by 35 feet and has a capacity of 450,000 litres of water.

According to the MP, it is designed to safely accommodate up to 80 students at a time, providing learners with access to modern training and recreational facilities within the school compound.
He noted that beyond supporting physical fitness, the facility will equip students with critical water-safety and swimming skills while nurturing discipline, teamwork, confidence and personal growth.
School administrators welcomed the project, saying it will strengthen co-curricular activities and help position the institution as a regional centre for swimming and aquatic sports.
They added that the pool will provide students with opportunities to participate in competitions while improving their overall well-being.
The project is part of ongoing efforts to improve learning infrastructure in Kapseret constituency and expand opportunities for students beyond the classroom.
The leaders present at the launch praised the initiative, noting that modern sports facilities play a crucial role in nurturing well-rounded learners and unlocking talent among young people.
