Six technical and vocational training institutions will battle for football honours when the 2026 Inter-Staff Football Tournament kicks off at Kamungei Stadium on Tuesday, October 20.
The competition will bring together staff teams from Chepalungu Technical Training Institute (TTI), Sotik TTI, Belgut TTI, Konoin TTI, SOT TTI and Bomet Central, setting the stage for a sporting contest aimed at strengthening unity and cooperation among TVET employees.
The tournament is scheduled to begin at 9 am, with participating institutions expected to showcase their football skills while promoting healthy competition beyond the workplace.
Organisers say the event will provide an opportunity for staff members to interact, build professional relationships and foster a shared sense of identity through sport.
Beyond the pursuit of victory, the tournament is expected to place emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork and institutional pride, values considered essential in promoting a positive working environment.
Institutions to showcase football talent
The participation of the six institutions is also expected to provide a platform for staff to demonstrate their talent and passion for football while strengthening ties across the TVET sector.
Staff members and football enthusiasts have been encouraged to turn up at Kamungei Stadium to support their respective teams and contribute to the success of the event.
The tournament comes as institutions continue to use sporting activities to encourage physical fitness, camaraderie and collaboration among employees.
With the opening matches set for Tuesday morning, attention will turn to which institution can translate its preparations into results and emerge as the competition's standout team.
