South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) has directed all students currently studying at the Makueni University College campus in Wote to relocate to the main campus in Kitui with immediate effect.
The directive follows a decision reached at a University Council meeting held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. According to an internal communication signed by Academic Registrar Prof Peter Njuru, affected students must complete their transition to the main campus by November 15, 2026.
To facilitate the move, the university will provide transport for all students relocating from Wote to the main campus, with logistics coordinated through the Office of the Dean of Students
On housing, the administration said 231 bed vacancies are available in the official hostels on a first-come, first-served basis, comprising 74 slots for male students and 157 for female students. Interested students have been advised to make bookings through the online portal.
An additional 27 privately owned rooms in Kyua have also been identified for booking through the Dean of Students, although students remain free to secure alternative off-campus accommodation of their choice.
Updated teaching schedules and academic timetables for the affected students will be released in due course.
