The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has issued security and identification directives for all contracted field personnel deployed for the upcoming national examinations. The guidelines apply to centre managers, supervisors and invigilators at examination and assessment centres across the country.
Under the instructions, all contracted officers must log in to the KNEC Contracted Professionals Portal (cp2.knec.ac.ke) to download and print their official appointment letters before the exercise begins.

They must carry the printed letters, together with their original National Identification Cards, to their designated centres every day without exception.
KNEC has also made it mandatory for all personnel to wear their official identification badges visibly at all times while on the grounds of examination centres. Security officers and monitoring officials stationed at centre entrances will enforce compliance before granting access to assessment rooms.
The council said the measures are vital to safeguarding the credibility and integrity of the national assessments. Requiring physical appointment letters and daily identity checks prevents unauthorised people from entering examination halls, and valid documents presented daily will also support accurate attendance records, which are needed to process transport allowances and payment when the exercise ends.

Field officers have been advised to log into the portal and print their deployment documents early to avoid last-minute delays caused by heavy traffic on the system. Centre managers have also been instructed to verify the credentials of all supervisors and invigilators reporting to their institutions before handing over examination materials each morning.

KNEC reiterated its commitment to accountability, fairness and security in the administration of the national assessments, and warned that non-compliant personnel will not be allowed to oversee the proceedings.
