14 year old Aluoch Okoth has resorted to do laundry work in Kajiado East Constituency after she lacked fees to enable her join Moi Girls School in Nairobi.
Aluoch sat for 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams and scored 367 marks.
The girl accompanies her mother to seek manual jobs around Kitengela and Athi River as her family can’t afford to enroll her in school.
“I work with my mother. The laundry work is too heavy for me and my dream of joining secondary school is killed,” Aluoch says.
The girl’s mother says she lost her job during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and has not been able to get another job.
They called for well-wishers to come to their rescue to fulfill the girl’s dream of joining university after secondary education.
