Ndaraweta Girls High School emerged as the standout institution during the Bomet Central sub-county secondary schools term two games held at Aisaik Playground, clinching titles in football, volleyball, rugby and several indoor disciplines.
The school’s girls’ football team, who are three-time champions, showcased resilience and determination to edge out Chebonei Girls High School 2-0 in a thrilling final.
The victory secured the sub-county championship and a place in the next stage of the competition.
Seventh Straight Title
In volleyball, Ndaraweta, who are now seven-time consecutive champions, proved too strong for their rivals, defeating Singorwet Secondary School 3-0 in straight sets to lift the title.
The dominant performance highlighted the team’s technical superiority and teamwork throughout the tournament.
The school’s rugby team also stamped its authority on the competition, overcoming Kanusin Secondary School 12-0 in the final.
The victory capped an impressive campaign in which Ndaraweta displayed discipline, tactical awareness and physical strength.
Beyond the major field events, Ndaraweta Girls High School also excelled in indoor games, winning several categories and further underlining the institution’s growing reputation as a sporting powerhouse in Bomet County.
Focus Shifts to County Games
Speaking after the victories, Principal Diana Sang praised the students, coaches and support staff for their commitment, discipline and hard work throughout the competition.
She said the school’s focus has now shifted to the upcoming Bomet County Secondary Schools Games scheduled for Wednesday at St Michael Grounds.
“We are proud of what our students have achieved at the sub-county level. However, our work is not done. We have now set our sights on the county games and are preparing adequately to compete strongly and represent the school with distinction,” she said.
The principal expressed confidence that the teams would maintain their winning momentum and build on their impressive performances as they seek county honours.
