Teams that qualify to represent Kenya at the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Championship will remain in Thika, Kiambu County, for a four-day residential training camp immediately after the conclusion of the national schools games.
The Ministry of Education has revised the National Co‑curricular Activities Calendar to introduce the intensive camp, aimed at sharpening Kenya’s representatives before they face regional rivals. According to the updated programme dated July 21, teams will assemble in Thika on July 31, with the official opening ceremony of the National Schools Games set for August 2 at Mpesa Foundation Academy.

Once the national games conclude on August 6, selected teams will remain in Thika for the residential camp beginning August 7. The camp will continue until August 10, giving coaches time to assess players, refine tactics, and strengthen team combinations before departure for Tanzania on August 11.
Officials say the training camp is designed to address weaknesses, improve tactical awareness, and ensure Kenya fields well‑prepared squads at the FEASSSA Championship.
The ministry also noted that the revised calendar will ease logistical planning for schools, organisers, and officials, while guaranteeing that athletes receive adequate preparation.
Kenya will be seeking another successful campaign in Morogoro, where the country’s best school teams will face regional rivals in various sporting disciplines as they compete for East African honours.
