Reigning national school football champions; St. Joseph’s Boys National School–Kitale, popularly known as JOBO, continued their impressive pre-season run with a narrow 1-0 victory over Kariobangi Sharks Youth in a friendly match played in Nairobi.
The encounter served as an important test for the Kitale-based side as they continue preparations for the upcoming school football calendar.
JOBO displayed discipline, tactical awareness and composure throughout the match, with a solitary goal separating the two sides at the final whistle.
Speaking after the game, renowned tactician William Muluya, commonly known as Coach Mluhya, lauded the squad for the progress they have made since last season.
“I’m impressed by the talent in the JOBO squad. I can confidently say you’ve become better, sharper, and more disciplined than last season. Let’s keep the fire burning and continue aiming higher, especially knowing I lead a youth team competing on the national stage,” said Coach Mluhya.

The coach noted that the Nairobi friendlies are being used to gauge the team’s performance and readiness ahead of the second-term games set to begin later this month.
According to the technical bench, the matches are also helping the coaching staff assess player combinations, fitness levels and overall team chemistry before the highly anticipated competitions kick off.
JOBO, who are the reigning national football champions, have continued to attract attention for their consistency and strong performances on the school games stage.
The victory against K-Sharks Youth is expected to further boost the team’s confidence as they intensify preparations for the busy football season ahead.
