Kenyan schools Musingu Boys and St Joseph’s Girls Kitale produced thrilling victories to book their places in the boys’ and girls’ handball finals at the 2026 FEASSA Games in Morogoro, Tanzania.
Musingu edged compatriots St Joseph’s Boys Kitale 27-26 in a closely contested all-Kenyan semi-final on Friday, August 21, setting up a regional final as they continue their pursuit of the East African title.
In the other boys’ semi-final, Uganda’s Wampeewo Ntaake SS defeated compatriots Gombe Secondary School 37-25 to secure the second final berth.
St Joseph’s Girls advance
Kenya also secured a place in the girls’ final through St Joseph’s Girls Kitale, who defeated fellow Kenyan side Moi Girls Kamusinga 22-17.
However, Kenya’s Nyakach Girls’ Senior School missed out on the final after falling 38-30 to Uganda’s Gombe Secondary School in the second girls’ semi-final.
The results leave Kenya with two representatives among the four teams advancing to the two handball finals, underlining the country’s strong showing in the discipline at the 23rd FEASSA Games.
The 2026 FEASSA Games are being held in Morogoro, Tanzania, with 413 teams and 5,548 participants competing across 51 sporting disciplines.

Kenya, the defending overall champion, is seeking to retain its regional crown after winning last year’s edition in Kakamega.
