- The governor says his administration will continue improving ECDE infrastructure to provide safer learning environments.
Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) after commissioning the new Methouvini ECDE Centre in Mavindini Ward.
The new modern classroom replaces a dilapidated, muddy and unsafe structure where young learners had been studying, bringing new hope to pupils, teachers and parents in the area.

Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Mutula said transforming learning environments is key to investing in the future of Makueni’s children.
Governor tours Mavindini Ward
The commissioning was part of his one-day development tour of Mavindini Ward. He was accompanied by Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili, Makueni County Assembly Clerk Kevin Mutuku, area MCA Jonathan Kimongo and other officials.

The County Government of Makueni confirmed the commissioning and said the new centre replaces the dilapidated and unsafe structure previously used by learners. It also confirmed the presence of Mulili, Mutuku and Kimongo during the tour.

Governor Mutula said his administration would continue to prioritise ECDE infrastructure across the county to ensure every child accesses quality education in a safe and conducive environment.
