Multimedia University of Kenya (MMU) has opened applications for first-year students seeking to change their academic programmes for the 2026/2027 academic year.
In a notice dated August 31, 2026, the university’s Acting Registrar, Academic Affairs, Judith Zirro, said the Inter/Intra-Faculty Transfer portal will be active from Wednesday, September 2, to Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The opportunity is available to newly admitted students who wish to change their programmes, subject to meeting the required academic qualifications and availability of space.
Students seeking transfers have been directed to log into the MMU Student Portal and select “Inter/Intra-Faculty Transfer” under the Student Requests section.
They are required to follow the application instructions and attach their KCSE result slips.
The university has cautioned that only students who have been admitted and paid the required fees will be considered for transfers.
Applicants must also have attained the required Cut-Off Points (COP) for the programme they are seeking to join.

MMU said successful applications will be communicated to the students after the approval process.
Those approved will be able to generate transfer letters bearing their new admission numbers before reporting to their new faculties or programmes.
The university has also warned students against submitting applications after the deadline, noting that late applications will not be considered.
Importantly, MMU said once an Inter/Intra-Faculty transfer application has been validated by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), it cannot be reversed or revoked.

The transfer window comes as MMU welcomes its 2026 intake, with the university encouraging new students to make informed decisions about their academic programmes.
The university has also recently announced that its first-year students will attend a Vice Chancellor’s address on September 4, 2026, as part of their orientation and engagement as they begin their university journey.
