The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced new changes in its County Directors of Education (CDEs) by appointing new directors and transferring others, a move aimed at enhancing service delivery.
In the new changes, Siaya CDE Mbugua Kabati has been moved to Tharaka Nithi and his Laikipia counterpart, Francis Shikanda, will replace him. Kabati, on the other hand, will replace Brigid Wambua, who is moving to Laikipia to take over from Shikanda.
Also affected by the changes is Dr. Kipruto Kosgey, who has been the Embu CDE and has been transferred to Baringo. Meanwhile, Joshua Mwangi, who was previously in Baringo, will move to Kirinyaga to replace Lydia Mutegi.
Mutegi’s destination is Makueni to replace Richard Nyakundi, who moves to Busia. Yopes Magara, who was Makueni Sub-county Director of Education, has been promoted and deployed to West Pokot as CDE. Dr Kosgey’s replacement in Embu is understood to be an officer deployed from Jogoo House. Education News was also unable to obtain the name by the time of publishing this story.
In West Pokot, Julius Wamae relocates to Bungoma County to replace Pius Ngoma, who has been deployed to the office of the Eastern Regional Director of Education to assume new duties.
