Graduands have been tipped to embrace entrepreneurship and leverage their social media capital to make millions. Media Personality and influencer Churchill Ndambuki said today’s social media space presented young people with unique opportunities and urged them to take advantage of them to make money.
Speaking at Uwezo College’s 10th Graduation ceremony in Machakos, Churchill said it was now easier to become rich than in the past due to the marketing opportunities presented by new technology and social media.
“There’s something that God has done to this generation. Your parents worked so hard, but you are the generation that will lift them out of poverty. It’s time to start mining those numbers in social media,” advised Mr Churchill.
He advised the youth to be creative and original in their ventures. “You were born original. Don’t be a copycat,” he said.
Key speakers at the event, including Chief Guest Dr Humphrey Njuguna, TVET Curriculum Development and Certification Council CEO Prof Kisilu Kitainge and Uwezo College Director Felix Kyengo, emphasised the importance of a positive attitude in unlocking the doors to opportunities.

He said dream, drive and determination will enable the graduands to achieve whatever they set out to do.
Dr Njuguna, who is a land valuer, Environmental Expert and a lawyer, said after university, he worked for the government for only one year before going into private practice and is now an employer.
He urged young people to embrace self-employment.
Mr Kyengo said the College, which he started in 2015 with only three departments, has now grown to numerous departments with a focus on skills development.
Over 200 students graduated with Diploma and artisan certificates in various fields, including ICT, Hospitality, Sales and Marketing.
