Matiliku Boys Secondary School volleyball team is set to represent Kenya at the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations (FEASSA) Games in Morogoro, Tanzania, with the side determined to make a strong impression on the regional stage.
The Kenyan representatives have been pooled in Group A alongside Chesamis of Kenya, Rwanda’s Nyanza TSS, Uganda’s Bukedea Comprehensive School and Tanzania’s Lumala.
The group is expected to provide a stern test for Matiliku Boys, with teams from four East African countries battling for honours and progression in the boys’ volleyball competition.
Principal backs team for strong showing
Chief Principal Dr Johnstone Muia Ndivo expressed confidence in the team, saying the school is proud of the players for earning the opportunity to represent Kenya at the regional championship.
Dr Ndivo said the FEASSA Games will provide the students with an opportunity to showcase their talent, gain valuable international exposure and compete against some of the best school volleyball teams in East Africa.
“We are proud of our boys and the work they have put in to reach this level. We want them to go to Tanzania with confidence, discipline and a winning mentality,” Dr Ndivo said.
He urged the players to remain focused and united throughout the tournament, while respecting their opponents and maintaining discipline both on and off the court.
The principal said the school administration remains committed to supporting sports and nurturing learners’ talents, noting that participation in regional competitions plays an important role in the students’ development.
“Our expectation is not only to win, but also to give these young players an experience that will shape their sporting and personal development. We believe they have what it takes to make Kenya proud,” he said.
Matiliku targets FEASSA glory
Matiliku Boys have been preparing for the regional assignment and will be hoping to translate their domestic experience into strong performances against their Group A opponents.

The team will now focus on its opening fixtures as it begins the quest for FEASSA glory in Morogoro, carrying the hopes of Matiliku Boys and Kenya into the regional championship.
