A Chuka law court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment after it found him guilty of defiling a child with special needs for a second time while out on a bond.
The 58-year old man originally allegedly defiled the 12-year old girl with special needs and was arrested before being released on bond.
He then went ahead to defile her again and was arrested and arraigned in court where he was found guilty of the heinous act and jailed for life.

Chuka Law Courts Resident Magistrate Oscar Chess Kinyua said the prosecution had proved the case beyond reasonable doubt.
The court heard that the accused defiled the same girl while out on bond for the initial defilement offence.
The prosecution team presented testimonies from four witnesses in the case, including a doctor as well as the investigating officer.
“Among the evidence produced were the birth certificate, P3 form, PRC form, treatment notes proving the age of the victim, and evidence of defilement,” the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) said in a statement.
After conviction, the Magistrate ordered that a pre-sentence report and the victim impact assessment report be filed.
