Likuyani Member of Parliament (MP) Innocent Mugabe on Thursday, April 30 disbursed Ksh65Million bursary to support the education access among needy bight students.
The bursary disbursed through the ElimuKwanza programme seen 9,468 learners drawn from universities, colleges, secondary schools, and special needs institutions benefitting directly.
According to the lawmaker the programme has contributed to a notable rise in school enrolment within the constituency, whereby the number of students attaining direct university entry has doubled, a trend attributed to improved support systems, targeted bursaries, and strengthened collaboration with education stakeholders.

The education-focused initiative continues to reflect a broader strategy aimed at strengthening academic performance, increasing transition rates, and building a stronger human capital base within Likuyani.
Stakeholders within the education sector have previously noted that consistent bursary support has played a key role in reducing pressure on households while improving retention in schools.
The MP has reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining and expanding education funding programmes, noting that investment in learning institutions remains central to long-term development goals for the constituency.
