Kuresiet Secondary School underlined their growing stature in school volleyball after a dominant display earned them the boys’ championship at the 2026 Kabianga open tournament, staged at the Kabianga Playgrounds in Kericho County.
The School from Emurua Dikirr Sub-County, Narok County, enjoyed an outstanding run throughout the competition. Drawn into Pool A, Kuresiet set the tone early with composed and confident performances in the round-robin stage.
They emerged top of the pool with nine points, finishing ahead of hosts Kabianga School and sending a clear warning to the rest of the field.
Their authority was further evident in the semi-finals where they faced Kimulot Boys.
Kuresiet approached the match with tactical discipline and sharp execution, controlling play at the net and maintaining steady service pressure.
The result was a convincing 3–0 victory that comfortably secured their place in the final.

With home support behind them, Kabianga were eager to reverse earlier results but Kuresiet remained calm and focused.
Displaying excellent teamwork, solid defense and effective attacking combinations, Kuresiet swept the final in straight sets to be crowned champions.
Head coach Kosilei Rono attributed the success to discipline, unity and commitment among the players.
He noted that the tournament offered an important opportunity to build fitness, test combinations and strengthen confidence as the team prepares for the upcoming school games season.
The victory not only delivered silverware but also positioned Kuresiet Secondary as a serious contender in boys’ volleyball this year.
