KNEC calls field officer briefings as TVET CDACC releases July/August 2026 assessment timetable

  • KNEC has directed county education officials and examination supervisors to attend mandatory briefings  ahead of July TVET CDACC releases July/August 2026 assessment timetable.
  • Officers required to attend include County Directors of TVET, Sub County Directors of Education from the MoE), Deputy County Commissioners, Sub County Examination Officers, Centre Managers, Institution Examination Officers, Supervisors, Sub County Police Commanders, and Security Officers in charge of Critical Infrastructure Protective units.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has issued a circular directing county education officials and examination supervisors to attend mandatory briefings ahead of the July 2026 Technical and Business Examinations, as the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (TVET CDACC) simultaneously releases its master timetable for the July/August 2026 Assessment Series.

In a circular dated June 23, 2026, and signed by Dr. James Nderitu for the Chief Executive Officer, KNEC directed that briefings for field officers involved in the management and administration of the July 2026 Technical and Business Examinations will be conducted between June 29 and July 3, 2026.

The briefings will be held at venues identified by respective TVET County Directors in conjunction with Sub County Directors of Education.

Officers required to attend include County Directors of TVET, Sub County Directors of Education from the Ministry of Education (MoE), Deputy County Commissioners, Sub County Examination Officers, Centre Managers, Institution Examination Officers, Supervisors, Sub County Police Commanders, and Security Officers in charge of Critical Infrastructure Protective units.

In tandem with KNEC’s preparations, TVET CDACC has released its July/August 2026 Assessment Series Master Timetable, with written assessments set to run from July 20 to August 7, 2026.

The timetable covers courses across multiple curriculum cycles including Cycle 01, Cycle 02, and Cycle 03, with two assessment sessions conducted daily throughout the written assessment period. The morning session begins at 8:00 AM while the mid-morning session starts at 11:30 AM.

According to the general instructions accompanying the timetable, the time allowed for each assessment tool is two hours across all course levels. In the event of any discrepancy, the time stated on the assessment tool will be taken as correct.

Candidates registered in Cycle 02 and Cycle 03 across their respective levels will share the same standardized assessment tools for basic units of competence, with each assessment centre required to administer the same tools to candidates as slotted in the timetable.

Only duly registered candidates listed on the nominal roll are permitted to sit the assessments, and candidates must sign attendance registers for each session. Supervisors are required to ensure that candidates record their names, TVET CDACC registration numbers, centre name, course name and unit name on the answer booklet.

Any discrepancies in the timetable are to be reported promptly through official council communication channels for investigation and corrective action.
