Kisumu Boys High School will represent Kisumu Sub-County at the upcoming Kisumu county championships after successfully winning an appeal against Kisumu Day High School.
The decision was reached by the Kisumu Central Jury Committee following a petition filed by Kisumu Boys after their 2-0 loss to Kisumu Day in the sub-county football final played on Tuesday at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Mamboleo.
The appeal centered on allegations of player eligibility and registration irregularities involving several Kisumu Day players.
Among the issues raised were claims of impersonation against players identified as Nicolas and Pogba, as well as concerns regarding the registration details of midfielder Mwala, who was alleged to have two Unique Personal Identifier (UPI) numbers.
After reviewing the case, the jury ruled in favor of Kisumu Boys, effectively overturning the outcome of the final and granting them the right to represent the sub-county at the county championships.
The verdict brings to an end days of uncertainty and speculation surrounding one of the most talked-about school football disputes in the region this season.
Kisumu Boys are now expected to shift their focus to preparations for the county championships, where they will seek to continue their campaign against some of the best school teams in Kisumu County.
