Parents in have been asked to guide their children on love matters to enable them make wise decisions that will not lead to suicide cases.
Speaking at Kiamabundu village Assistant Chief John Ondande wondered why a university student would take his life because of love that went sour between him and his girlfriend.
According to the administrator, the deceased hanged himself with a sisal rope after exchanging bitter short messages on phone with his girlfriend.
“I received the sad message of his death this morning. I went at his rental house and found his lifeless body hanging from the ceiling of the house,” he said.
The police identified the body as that of Simeon Mochoka Ogachi, 23, a student in the faculty of Animal Science at Kisii University.
According to the deceased’s neighbour who identified herself as Anne Ogega, the deceased was a polite and helpful man to his neighbours and colleagues.

His roommate narrated how the deceased crashed a laptop in the evening before his death.
“He vented his anger on his laptop after exchanging words with his girlfriend on phone and we went to sleep but he did not show any sign of killing himself,” he said.
The body was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
Kisii County Police Commander Charles Keses confirmed the death and said that his officers had started investigations to establish the cause of the death.
