The county government of Kiambu County has announced 60 vacancies for the position of ECDE Teacher III under the County Public Service Board in a move aimed at strengthening early childhood education across the county.
According to an advertisement published on Friday, the county is seeking qualified applicants to serve in the Department of Education, Culture, Gender and Social Services. The positions fall under Job Group CPSB 11(H) and will be offered on contract terms.
The teachers will be responsible for class teaching, mentoring and counselling learners, preparing lesson plans, developing play-learning materials, assessing learners’ progress and ensuring the safety and well-being of children in ECDE centres.
Applicants are required to possess a minimum KCSE grade of C (Plain) or a KCSE grade of D+ accompanied by a certificate in Early Childhood Development and Education.
Candidates must also hold a diploma in ECDE, be registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), possess computer application skills and have at least two years of relevant work experience.
The devolved administration further stated that applicants must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
Interested candidates have been directed to fill out and submit the official employment application form available on the county government website.
Applications must be hand-delivered to the County Public Service Board offices located at the Thika Sub-County offices.
The deadline for submission of applications is Friday, May 29, 2026.
The recruitment comes at a time when Kiambu County has been expanding investment in ECDE infrastructure and programmes.
The county recently commissioned additional model ECDE classrooms as part of efforts to improve access to quality early learning.

County officials have encouraged women, youth and persons living with disabilities to apply, emphasising that the county government is an equal opportunity employer.
The board also warned applicants against fraudsters demanding money in exchange for jobs, insisting that the recruitment process is free and transparent.
