The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will represent Kenya in the forthcoming 39th Annual Conference of the Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA) which will be held in the country.
The conference themed ‘Education Assessment for Nurturing Every Learner’s Potential’ will bring together all African countries which have examination bodies at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi from August 21 to 25, 2023.
KNEC will present a total of 57 papers, which is so far the most among the participating nations.
AEAA is an affiliate member to the International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) and has 21 active primary members with several individual members drawn from both public and private institutions mainly from Sub-Saharan Africa.
The primary members include; Botswana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique and Namibia.
The conference will come with sponsorship opportunities in three packages; Platinum package which includes a sum of Ksh3.5 million and above, Gold sponsor which has Ksh3 million and above, then Silver Sponsor Ksh1.5 million and above, and Bronze sponsor which has a package totaling Ksh100, 000 and above.
All the sponsorships will provide agencies with the opportunity to promote and sell products as approved by the conference organizers.
The conference will focus on an array of aspects in educational assessment, with deliberate emphasis on integration of formation and summative assessment; as well as assessment of non-cognitive skills for 21st century skills.
