KCB Foundation opens vocational scholarship applications for Elgeyo Marakwet youth

KCB Foundation has opened applications for fully sponsored vocational training scholarships in Elgeyo Marakwet County, with interviews set to begin on June 2, 2026.

Youth in Elgeyo Marakwet County have until May 26, 2026, to apply for fully sponsored vocational training scholarships being offered by the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Foundation in partnership with the county government, with interviews already lined up across 10 training centres beginning June 2, 2026.

The scholarships, targeting residents of Elgeyo Marakwet, cover a wide range of courses including Electrical Installation, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Masonry, Plumbing, Tailoring and Dressmaking, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, Carpentry and Joinery, Garment Making, Shoe Making and Leather Work, Fashion and Design, and Food and Beverage.

Interviews will be held at Flax, Chepkorio and Kitany Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) on June 2, 2026, followed by Chebara, Kiplobai and Chesewet on June 3. Kapcherop VTC will host its session on June 4, while Kibirech, Koitilial and Iten will wrap up the process on June 5.

The partnership adds to the growing footprint KCB Foundation has built in the county. The foundation previously ran its 2Jiajiri programme in Elgeyo Marakwet, graduating more than 800 youth in its second cohort, with over 200 of those graduates receiving startup toolkits to launch businesses.

For this round, candidates are required to apply online through the official form before the May 26 deadline.

Interviews will take place at the vocational training centre most convenient or relevant to the applicant, according to the notice.
